Job Description

University Police Intern
The Student Intern works under the guidance of the Chief of Police, or their designee, and participates in a semester‑long practicum with the East Stroudsburg University Police Department. The intern gains exposure to police administration, patrol operations, investigations, records, communications, and community relations while adhering to all department policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
Student Intern Learning Points:
Records: Report completion and records management. 
Patrol: Observe patrol operations and procedures. 
Court: Case preparation, courtroom protocol, testifying, post‑hearing 
procedures. 
Crime Prevention: Community programs and prevention strategies. 
Communication: Radio codes, and procedures. 
Parking Enforcement: Permit systems, meter enforcement, complaints.
