Transportation Engineering Assistant Role
Job Description
Support the City of Victoria’s transportation initiatives as an Engineering Assistant. Play a vital role in data collection and reporting to improve the city's transportation systems.
This position, based in the Engineering & Public Works Department, involves hands-on tasks in a collaborative environment. Candidates with civil engineering coursework and a focus on transportation will thrive in this role, which contributes to optimizing traffic flow and safety. Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and analyze field data for projects
• Assist in operations using survey levels and traffic counters
• Conduct initial investigations on transportation issues
• Prepare and update engineering records and maps
• Provide assistance with public inquiries and concerns
Requirements:
• High school diploma and relevant engineering coursework
• Minimum of six months’ experience or equivalent
