Technician, Small Animal Medicine, Veterinary Medical Centre

Primary Purpose: To provide technical assistance for the medicine service of the Veterinary Medical Centre, including the support for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on animals presented to the service. Will be required to provide coverage specific to the special procedures room and elsewhere within the hospital if required.

Nature of Work: Reporting to the Manager Technical Services, responsible in providing assistance in all technical aspects of the medicine service. During periods of low activity or high demand this individual may be assigned to other areas within the Veterinary Medical Centre. Animal handling and manipulations are a constant part of the position. This person will work in a large hospital environment with animals, which exposes employees to animal dander, waste, and unpredictability.
