Sustainability - Building Simulation Specialist

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Energy Modeller works collaboratively with the Mechanical or Electrical team, in order to provide energy simulations and analysis in accordance with the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB).

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

Energy Modelling using IES-VE and HAP. Reviewing engineering drawings at various stages of new construction projects (schematic design, design development, 75% and Issued for Tender drawings) in order to recreate the facility using IES-VE for energy performance modelling. Applying the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB) to determine performance of the facility. Review of shop drawings as required to complete final compliance models and verify energy inputs. Assist design engineers with heat load calculations, cooling load calculations and ASHRAE 62 calculations to support new construction design.
