Should Cost Engineer
Job Description
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Be a costing expert for manufacturing technologies, such as Sheet metal, Fab & Machining, Composites, Electronic Manufacturing, Cable and Harness, among others.
- Develop Should Cost models, using costing software from aPriori, plus other cost modelling software. Prepare, generate and deliver costing reports for the costed parts/assemblies.
- Support the Procurement teams to use the Should Cost data to better understand the cost drivers of a part and to better negotiate with suppliers.
- Support the Engineering teams to develop cost models to help avoid cost during the development process.
- In cooperation with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Procurement, identify suitable target parts where savings can be made.
- Understand Global market trends as it relates to the supply and manufacture of parts used within Vertiv products
- Working with Procurement, use the price trends for critical materials to ensure that the Should Cost parameters ...
