Sessional Instructor, Human Services Education Assistant/Community Support - Indigenous Focus

Position Summary

Applications are invited from qualified individuals to instruct in the Human Services Education Assistant/Community Support – Indigenous Focus Certificate program at the North Island College.

The sessional instructional assignment, up to 25%, involves teaching the practice course HSW 144: Indigenous Focus Human Service Practice Experience IIto a cohort of HSW students using a blended delivery method at the Port Alberni campus.

The Education Assistant/Community Support Worker – Indigenous Focus Certificate fall under North Island College’s “Special Programs – Exclusive hiring of Indigenous Candidates for Indigenous Faculty”.

NOTE: Practicum placements will take place in both community as well as in elementary/secondary education setting and may require travel. Applicants need to have access to reliable transportation.
