This is a senior-level role requires the incumbent to have a strong understanding of technical, project management and leadership expertise within an environmental consulting environment. The incumbent is also responsible for the supervision and mentorship of key individuals within the biophysical team, as well as developing and maintaining expertise in their technical discipline.

The role of senior ecologist includes working as a fully accountable project manager whose responsibilities include staff supervision, service delivery to internal and external clients, financial, quality and project management within a team environment.
