Overview
This position focuses on underground transmission line engineering for voltages up to 500kV, including routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement, and electrical principles. Responsibilities
Design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV. Perform cost analyses, develop design criteria, address siting and routing challenges, and place manholes for underground transmission lines. Create physical designs including duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, cable pulling calculations, and drawing packages. Conduct cable selection studies, determine bonding schemes, and perform ampacity calculations. Develop riser structure configurations and assess structural loading. Prepare specifications for cable procurement, duct bank installation, trenchless installation, and general construction. Work and coordinate with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components. Direct a small project team of engineers, designers, and drafters. Leve...
