The Flight Deck Design and Human Factors team ensures the design of aircraft hardware, software, human tasks, and work environment are compatible with the perceptual, cognitive, and physical attributes of the personnel who will assemble, operate, and support the aircraft. The role focuses on user‑centered design, prototyping, simulation, analysis, and usability testing of flight deck interfaces, including avionics HMI and other pilot equipment. Responsibilities also include support for certification under regulations such as 1302 and related human factors standards.

Deploy cognitive ergonomics expertise to support design, testing, and analysis of Human‑Machine Interfaces.
Support requirements development, task analysis, and human error analysis.
Develop system HMI simulations and prototypes.
