Job Summary
The Senior Engineer, Bridge Rating leads junior staff in the process of establishing the load carrying capacity of CN bridges and record keeping as required by law. The incumbent ensures that bridge capacity rating calculations and recommendations are in accordance with sound engineering practice, approved railway standards and latest industry best practices, and in compliance with safety standards, applicable laws & regulations.
Bridge Assessment
- Act as a resident expert with highly specialized knowledge in structural analysis and bridge rating.
- Lead junior staff in the performance of their duties with training and guidance.
- Review proposals of projects to be awarded to external consultants.
- Monitor progress of work assigned to junior staff and projects granted to consultants.
- Review Assessment Reports produced by junior staff and consultant reports.
