Founded in 1995, the Cure Blindness Project (CBP ) is a global nonprofit organization driven to help people retain or regain their sight. Over 43 million people worldwide are blind, and 295 million suffer from vision impairment, with 90% living in low- and middle-income countries where access to eye care is limited. However, 80% of this burden is preventable or treatable, with simple interventions like cataract surgery restoring sight to millions.
