Title: Research Assistant 1

Supervisor: Professor Sylvain Coulombe

Project: Inductively‑coupled plasma reduction of iron oxide powders (summer2026)

Start Date: 2026‑06‑01 End Date: 2026‑08‑28

Hours: 12.7 hours per week (part time)

Hourly Salary: $29.87

Location: Wong Building, McGill University, Quebec, Canada

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews on plasma processing and powder chemistry.
• Complete WHMIS and Hazardous Waste Management training.
• Receive training on plasma reactor operation.
• Validate the powder feeder system. If the existing feeder proves inadequate, design and construct a smaller feeder.
• Perform preliminary experiments with the full experimental setup.
• Prepare weekly reports for the research group.
