POSITION SUMMARY
Members of the Critical Care Transport team are provincially mandated to provide transport to critically ill neonates and paediatric patients to centres with a higher level of care as required by patient condition. The transport environment is highly unpredictable. Critical Care Transport Registered Nurse Fellows (CCTT RNF) train to be perpetually ready with a broadened skill set, proper equipment and mental preparedness to respond to any situation. They must use their clinical judgement under the guidance and supervision of their overseeing clinician and may carry out highly specialized procedures in emergency situations. They will be involved in the care of critically ill patients utilizing complex equipment and will progress to managing patient care as the fellowship advances.
