Registered Nurse - Inpatient Leukemia (Toronto)

Position Summary

As a member of UHN’s interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse will practice within the 15A Leukemia unit—a 17‑bed nursing unit—with skilled oncology nurses working in a team model approach to care for newly diagnosed leukemia patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent care for newly diagnosed leukemia patients.
• Practice in accordance with relevant legislation, standards, the UHN Skilled Practice Model and the mission and vision of nursing at UHN.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical requirements of the profession.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families during their length of stay (average ~1 month).
• Participate in primary nursing care delivery model.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including Advance Practice Nurse Educators and Patient Care Coordinator, to support nursing and program goals.
