The Transition Graduate Nurse (TGN) is a regulated health professional who provides comprehensive nursing care to individuals and families across the lifespan. These positions are supernumerary in nature, that are not part of the baseline staff count. The TGN will be assigned a Clinical Guide with whom they will be scheduled to work and collaboratively provide care until it is determined that they are ready to independently assume the full scope of RN or RPN practice. Once the TGN is determined to be ready for independent practice and obtains a regular position of no less than 0.5 FTE, they will continue to work the same total FTE as their original GNTPP position for the remainder of the program. During this Independent Practice Phase, only the FTE of their new position will be counted in the baseline staff complement.
