Role and Facility Information

Excellent opportunity for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the expanding Psychiatry department at Kelowna General Hospital. You will be part of a team providing inpatient and outpatient child and youth mental health services within the hospital and the community. Those experienced or interested in DDMH are welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessment and treatment of patients up to 18 years of age, usually admitted through the Emergency Department.
• Assume care for new child & youth psychiatric admissions and serve as Most Responsible Physician for admitted patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including nurses, counselors, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, teachers, and other clinicians.
• Assist with development and maintenance of appropriate programs, policies, and procedures.
