Seeking an experienced, patient caregiver to support an elderly gentleman with mild cognitive impairment. The role focuses on companionship, light grooming, hydration prompts, and gentle activity. The client is independent but resistant to change, so a calm, steady approach is key.
SPANISH SPEAKER is the priority, French and English are secondary considerations.
Responsibilities
- Companionship and conversation
- Offer shave, grooming, and light tidying (within residence guidelines)
- Encourage hydration and small snacks
- Supervise short walks with walker
- Record brief shift notes on engagement, mood, and mobility
Qualifications
- Experience with dementia or cognitive decline
- Confident working independently in a retirement home
