The Plumber performs routine maintenance on all plumbing equipment in the Hospital complex. The plumber also fits valves, couplings and other specified parts and fittings to pipe sections by screwing, bolting or soldering. Attaches pipe assemblies to walls or ceilings with brackets or hangers. Installs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, showers, medical gas equipment, oxygen and suction systems etc., and connects them to outlet and inlet pipes. Repairs plumbing fixtures, including worn washers, valves, etc. Solders and caulks leaks and broken pipes. Constructs minor metal work, such as strainers, shelves and chart locks. Silver-solders and keeps all kitchen equipment in working orders. May be required to perform Tinsmith work as necessary. Performs routine preventive maintenance on all plumbing equipment.
