Pension Specialist

Overview

The Opportunity: Reporting to the Pension Manager, the Pension Specialist is responsible for the accurate and efficient administration and compliance of the organization’s pension plans. This role administers qualifying plans (Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution) and non-qualifying plans (RRSP), ensuring accuracy in participant records and providing service to employees and retirees.

The Pension Specialist maintains accurate records, administers pension plans, and coordinates with third-party vendors to ensure smooth operations. The role supports audits, prepares reports, and helps participants understand and optimize their retirement benefits. It also serves as a resource for retirement planning, guiding participants through plan options. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in HR systems, and advanced Excel expertise are required, along with attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders.
