This part-time Academic will teach in person labs in a practical clinical setting focused on specialized animal sources, barriers and containment, bio-hazards, special requirements of various species and common techniques used on alternate and laboratory animal species. This course is being offered in the Winter Term (January – April 2027) and is currently scheduled on Mondays from – Tuesdays from – and Fridays from – This position reports to the Chair of the Department.
VTEC 0225 Laboratory Animal and Alternative Pet Medicine Course Description
This course enables the student to apply the principles of clinical nursing to alternate and exotic pets as well as to common laboratory animal species. It also enables the graduate to enter the research facility and, with supplemental training and experience, prepares the graduate for certification with the Canadian Association for Laboratory Animal Sciences.
