Municipal Enforcement Officer
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Enforcement of town regulations including traffic, nuisance, animal control, occupancy and maintenance under the direction of the foreperson of municipal enforcement.
Qualifications
- College Diploma in Municipal Law Enforcement with two (2) years of experience in a related field.
- Working knowledge of municipal by‑laws.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with various stakeholder groups (members of the public, external agencies, elected officials, and other city staff) with a customer‑minded approach and excellent communication skills.
- Experience in legal note‑taking, preparation of written reports, and serving legal documents.
- Experience with database software, preferably in an enforcement environment.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training is accepted.
- Willingness to work a varied shift schedule.
- Valid driver’s license.
