Job Description
A Tennessee public school middle school football head coach manages all aspects of a grades 6-8 football program while operating under the rules of the Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association (TMSAA).
Qualifications
Employment Status: Public schools prefer full-time certified teachers with a valid Tennessee teaching license but they also hire qualified non-faculty coaches.
Education: A high school diploma or GED is the baseline.
Certifications: Current CPR, First Aid, and automated external defibrillator (AED) training.
State Training: Completion of mandatory TSSAA/TMSAA Coach Education courses.
Clearances: Successful completion of a criminal fingerprint-based background check and a pre-employment health screening.
