MÉDICO PEDIATRA - HOSPITAL MUNICIPAL PEDRO II

Hospital Municipal Pedro II is managed by SPDM/PAIS in partnership with the Municipal Health Department of Rio de Janeiro since December 2015. It has a 10‑story infrastructure, with emergency services, adult, pediatric and neonatal ICUs, maternity, medical clinic, general surgery, maxillofacial surgery, neurosurgery, psychiatry, pediatrics and orthopedics. Imaging (X‑ray, CT, ultrasound, ECG, echocardiography) and laboratory tests are also performed onsite. The hospital serves the elderly population of the western zone and includes two nursing wards for this group. It also houses a Burn Treatment Center with an exclusive ICU to prevent severe infections in burn patients. The Regional Emergency Coordination (CER) Santa Cruz, with 39 beds, focuses on lower complexity demands, freeing the hospital for high‑risk cases, urgent surgery, or hospitalization, and offers special psychiatric and obstetric care.
