Job Summary
Reporting to the Design Services Manager, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for supporting the technical direction for overall projects and technical interfacing with both internal and external customers. Working closely with the Mechanical Engineering department and the Design Services department, the role focuses on the design of mechanical equipment and systems for CANDU reactors, including conceptual and detailed design, development, testing, commissioning, and maintenance support.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development, modelling and drafting of designs for automated and semi-automated equipment (piping, machined parts, assemblies, welded fabrications) using 2D and 3D CAD software (SOLIDWORKS®, Inventor®, AutoCAD®).
- Collaborate with design personnel and teams of Professional Engineers and Technologists.
- Produce and update detail part drawings, assembly drawings, layouts, and bills of material.
