Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary

BCIT’s School of Construction and the Environment is seeking a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE) Maintenance Mechanic. This position responds to work orders and trouble calls and provides quality service to the School’s staff and students. The position carries out planned and emergency maintenance and repairs to machinery.

Responding to work requests, trouble calls, and taking corrective action to fix machinery and equipment; this includes troubleshooting problems on a wide variety of systems. The problems are sometimes difficult to identify, solutions are not standard, and many are emergency calls. Priorities are established by assessing the impact on property and public safety.
