Queens General Hospital, located in Liverpool, first opened in 1949 and underwent a $16-million modernization in 2014 , which included the development of a collaborative health-care centre. The project was supported by the QGH Foundation, the Keeping Us Strong community campaign, Queens Municipality, and the Province of Nova Scotia.

QGH is a 22-bed acute care community hospital providing inpatient, outpatient, and community-based care. Key programs include an asthma clinic, diabetes education, dialysis (satellite of the QEII), family medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and psychiatry .
