Licensed Practical Nurse - Operating Room Technician

Your Opportunity:

This is a shared position between the Operating Room and Minor Surgery Clinic. The employee will be responsible for providing perioperative patient care in an ambulatory setting, in accordance with CLPNA, Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC) and CSA Standards of Practice. The LPN/ORT will demonstrate competence in delivering safe, effective, and efficient care as an integral part of their surgical team. The LPN/ORT is responsible for providing safe care throughout the patient's stay in the Surgical Suite and Minor Surgery Clinic. The LPN/ORT promotes the professional role and evaluates own professional education and clinical practice standards. The scope of practice is a continuum ranging from basic to advanced clinical nursing activities. The LPN/ORT will practice using evidence-based measures and outcomes. The LPN/ORT is a patient advocate and provides a link between the units and the Surgical Suites and Minor Surgery Clinic.
