Job Description

The Role
To initiate and contribute to service development at an expert level within the sphere of the speciality, including the planning and evaluation of programmes that will impact on ophthalmology acute services.
In This Key Role, You Will
Provide telephone triage by eliciting information to advise GP’s, optometrists and A&E doctors on the management of ophthalmic emergencies and arranging appropriate appointments in the eye casualty clinics.
Undertake initial assessment of patients.
Perform clinical interventions including: IV cannulation/venepuncture, intravenous medication, intravitreal injections of medication.
Evaluate the results of interventions using accepted outcome criteria; revise management and/or care accordingly and consult and/or refer where required.
What You'll Bring
Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
Postgraduate expertise within speciality / area of practice...
