Job Description
Step into a vital role as an Intensivist with the Department of Critical Care at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia. Provide expert care in a closed ICU environment with a focus on quality outcomes.
Candidates must achieve licensure in British Columbia, with preference given to those certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This position offers a 0.5 FTE commitment, alternating 24-hour call shifts across an 8-week schedule. You will cover all critical care needs, except cardiac surgeries and neurosurgeries, while also participating in teaching and leadership initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver intensivist care for ICU patients
• Perform bedside tracheostomy and point-of-care ultrasound
• Conduct continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
• Mentor medical students and residents
• Engage in quality improvement and service development projects
