Instrumentation and Control Technician

Job Description

The Instrumentation and Control Technician provides their control and instrument technical expertise and supports the Swan Hills Treatment Centre (SHTC) with improving plant efficiencies using process/design industry best practices. They participate in overseeing day‑to‑day operations, collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and design control and instrument improvements, and develop thermal strategies involving the incineration plant and its auxiliary systems. The incumbent also reviews day‑to‑day operation, process/design improvement, and development of non‑thermal strategies involving the Physical Treatment Plant, Stabilization Plant and Inventory Management Systems.

The position operates within a COR, ISO 17025 certified, and OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 conforming plant environment and is expected to comply with all regulatory requirements. The facility operates on a 24/7 basis.
