Head Trader, Gas

The Head Trader, Gas (Henry Hub and AECO) is a senior trading leadership role responsible for managing Capital Power’s gas exposures from next day through 5+ years forward. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, analytics, and people leadership, with a mandate to generate strong, repeatable, risk‑adjusted returns.

Responsibilities

• Lead a gas team of traders and analysts toward a unified goal of portfolio profitability while respecting risk management limits.
• Generate and execute speculative‑driven trading strategies with clear catalysts, downside definitions, and invalidation criteria across short, medium, and long‑term horizons.
• Warehouse and manage the execution of Capital Power’s Henry Hub positions and needs across portfolio regions (Canada and the US).
