The City of Thompson seeks a dedicated full-time Community Safety Officer. Drive community safety through enforcement, education, and collaboration with key stakeholders.
In this crucial role, you will enforce bylaws and assist the RCMP while focusing on prevention and intervention strategies, especially in downtown areas. Your responsibilities include conducting community patrols, responding to by-law complaints, and educating the public on policies. You'll also prepare legal documents while maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce bylaws and assist the RCMP collaboratively
• Conduct community patrols focusing on safety
• Investigate and respond to by-law complaints
• Prepare legal documents like notices and summonses
• Educate the public on regulations and policies
Requirements:
• Superior interpersonal skills in communication
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities
• Knowledge of issues facing vulnerable populations
