Family Physician/Anesthesia

Overview

Northern Health is seeking a Family Practitioner Anesthetist to provide Anesthesia care in Hazelton, BC at Wrinch Memorial Hospital and Medical Clinic. The FP-Anesthetists provide regular Anesthesia services for visiting surgeons from nearby communities. There is opportunity to combine your Anesthesia practice with Primary Care and/or Emergency.

The Wrinch Medical Staff provides full-scope care to the region and is made up of 10-12 Family Physicians filling 7.5 FTE, 1 GP-Anesthetist, 2 Nurse Practitioners, and 2 Registered Midwives who have an incredibly collaborative model of care.

In spring 2020, the Physicians and Nurse Practitioners implemented a Provider Partnership model wherein each part time GP was paired with another provider. Each provider is responsible for their own patient panel, however in their absence they are able to rely on their partner to help cover urgent cases and check in on critical results.
