Starting July 6, 1-2 days each week Appointment Type Seasonal Description SUMMARY: The Educational Interpreter provides interpreting and/or transliterating services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, their hearing peers, the classroom teacher and other personnel in the educational environment. This environment may include classrooms, field trips, assemblies, counseling sessions, club meetings, extracurricular activities, IEP meetings, and other educational activities. The Educational Interpreter facilitates communication and provides access to the educational environment through the use of sign language, spoken English, as well as their knowledge about visual accessibility. The Educational Interpreter’s role is not to perform duties as a licensed teacher or to replace a teacher.
