Job Description
Take on a key leadership role as the Manager of Development Planning in Courtenay. This full-time position requires expertise in land use planning and management of professional staff.
As the reporting officer to the Director of Development Services, you will ensure that land use applications align with strategic priorities set by the Council. Your responsibilities will include budget management, preparing staff reports, and overseeing planning studies and permit processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance of land use applications and approvals
• Update land use bylaws and regulations accordingly
• Manage and prepare budgets for development initiatives
• Direct and mentor planning professionals in the team
• Produce staff reports on permits and planning studies
Requirements:
• Degree in Urban Planning or related field
• 7-9 years of planning experience with management experience
• Two or more years as an Approving Officer
