Detail Designer III, Structural

The Structural Detail Designer is responsible for 3D modeling and producing adequate production drawings to support production design at Vancouver Shipyards (VSY) in North Vancouver. The role will ensure that the detail design 3D model and production drawings are generated in accordance with VSY's standards, quality, and engineering processes, and that they are completed within the prescribed plans, schedules, and budgets.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on‑site based at 216 980 1st St West, North Vancouver.

What you’ll do

• Creates and updates the 3D design model content in assigned areas of structural design within project schedule and budget, and in line with the design input: basic and functional design documents, class society rules and regulations, flag rules, and company and international standards.
• Prepare structural manufacturing information for all stages of construction.
