Deputy Fire Chief

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the development of safe, sustainable, and effective fire response strategies and systems for the City of Yorkton;
• Ensure all firefighting personnel are trained, equipped, and qualified to safely deliver fire and medical first responses;
• Respond, as required, to fire, rescue, and medical events within the City, designated rural response areas, as well as mutual aid requests, providing command, control, and scene safety at events;
• Maintains liaison with federal, Provincial, and Municipal authorities and others on matters related to the department;
• Carry out fire investigations and compile documentation and report for the Fire Department and the Office of the Fire Commissioner.

Qualifications

• Grade XII diploma;
• Must possess and maintain a Valid Class 3 Provincial drivers license with an air brake endorsement;
