Join the Deer Lake First Nation as a Dental Hygienist focused on the Children’s Oral Health Initiative. Engage with First Nations children, caregivers, and promote essential oral health services in various community settings.
In this role, you will implement COHI programs ensuring optimal oral health for children aged 0-7 and pregnant women. You will conduct oral health screenings, provide fluoride applications, and educate parents on hygiene. Collaboration with local agencies is key to strengthen community health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform oral health screenings for children aged 0-7
• Educate caregivers on basic oral hygiene techniques
• Conduct community health information sessions
• Train COHI Aide in fluoride application methods
• Ensure compliance with COHI reporting and standards
Requirements:
• Registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario
• Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License
• Proof of liability insurance
