Job Description
Attend pre-construction meetings as required. Evaluate plans and specifications of construction projects to ensure compliance with regulations. Perform field inspection to check building structure and material standards.
Perform field and laboratory tests on materials to measure regulatory compliance. Issue notices of violations and orders to stop construction when structures and materials are not in accordance with regulations. Forward deviations and disagreements to the city engineer for clarification.
Maintain documentation records. Perform inspections of existing structures following natural disasters and other events that may affect the integrity of existing structures. Assist City staff and the public with inquiries.
