Job Description
Cando is seeking a dedicated Switchperson to manage rail car switching safely and efficiently. This outdoor role emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, and adherence to safety protocols.
In the position of Switchperson, you’ll be responsible for safe rail operations at customer sites, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to work under various conditions. You'll also engage in daily equipment inspections and ensure all switching procedures are followed to promote safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough job briefings and ensure locomotive safety
• Operate switches, manage air hoses, and couple rail cars
• Complete daily reports and maintain logs accurately
• Support Cando’s operational needs with excellent service
• Keep workspaces safe and tidy at all times
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED is necessary
• Relevant previous experience is favored
• Class 5 license is a plus
• Readiness to work long hours...
