Yet we have no system tosupportpeopledriven from their homes by violence and persecutionwho are asking for protectionat ourdoorstep.At the same timewe are weakening the legalfoundations of ourasylum system.Thebacktracking ondueprocess and thelack of afair andcoordinated response from all levels of government fails those who have a right to asylum, puts local governments and community groups in short-term reaction mode, and leaves Canadians shocked that so many refugees end up homeless. CCR is calling for a National System for Asylum with Dignity and seeks to mobilize its members and allies to engage decision makers and the public to implement thesesolutions. Weare looking for a Policy and Campaign manager tobring energy and strategic leadershipto this campaign alongside otherkeyadvocacyprioritiesto advance refugee rights.
