Bookkeeper - Contract
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join the Port Elizabeth team on a contract basis. The contract will run until mid 2029 Capture and maintain all financial transactions in accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Pastel) Maintain general ledger and subsidiary ledgers Process accounts payable and receivable Perform monthly bank reconciliations Reconcile creditors and debtors accounts Investigate and resolve discrepancies Assist with payroll processing (if applicable) Ensure compliance with South African statutory requirements: PAYE, UIF, SDL Prepare and submit statutory returns to SARS (or assist accountant) Prepare and submit VAT returns (VAT201) Ensure compliance with VAT Act requirements Maintain supporting schedules and documentation Prepare monthly management accounts Assist in budgeting and forecasting Generate trial balances and reports for accountants/auditors Maintain accurate records for audit purposes Ensure compliance with company p...
