Job Description
ADVANCED LEARNING SPECIALIST (9-12)
Primary Function
Provides the vision, knowledge, and expertise necessary to develop and sustain advanced learning initiatives, programs and pathways for students in grades 9-12; provides leadership in promoting dual enrollment (DE), the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, and other advanced learning opportunities in the York County School Division.
Minimum Qualifications
- A valid Virginia teaching license and a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience
- Coaching and/or leadership experience
- Experience in advanced coursework preferred
- Experience with multidisciplinary curriculum development that reflects current best practices
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Possess working knowledge of best practices in the leadership of specialty academic programs.
